Falcon: Leading the way in cooking innovation for nearly 200 years.

A white Falcon Classic cooker with black and gold detail with a white rangehood sits in the centre of a kitchen with olive green cabinetry, marble splashback and matching green walls with shelves above.

Loved by professionals and passionate home chefs for decades, Falcon is steeped in tradition and technological advancement, leading the way in cooker innovation for nearly two centuries.

Let’s go back to where it all began. The year is 1830 in Leamington Spa, West Midlands, UK. William Flavel has just invented what will be considered one of the greatest domestic institutions of the 19th Century. Built from cast iron and heated by solid fuel ‘The Kitchener’ range cooker could roast, bake, and warm all from the same heat source. This highly regarded invention took the world by storm and held pride of place in royal palace kitchens in Italy and France. It was even installed in Kensington Palace by Queen Victoria’s aunt.

Fast forward nearly 200 years, and Falcons are still manufactured in the same town where William Flavel designed the world’s first cooker.

Once you experience a Falcon, there’s no going back. The functionality, quality and style are like no other cooker, which is why professional chefs love it. Falcon cookers are designed using the best materials, including the highest gauge steel and a triple-folded frame that’s super strong and built to last.

Rigorously tested, Falcon A-rated ovens go through a series of cooking trials to ensure they perform to the highest level with no room for error. So, when you cook a roast, whip up a stir fry or grill some fish, you will have outstanding results every time.

The Nexus is highly functional and super stylish. With a choice of two widths – both with a multifunction oven, a fan oven and a deluxe glide-out grill – and two types of hob, the Nexus is an ideal partner for anyone who loves to cook.

It’s the attention to detail that sets Falcon apart from their competitors.

The Handyrack is attached to the main oven door, so you don’t have to reach into the oven or risk a burn when lifting out the oven tray. It holds a hefty 5.5kg, is easily removable when not needed, and can even be washed in the dishwasher.

The Handyrack is available with models like the Elan Deluxe and Falcon Professional

The Deluxe Glide-Out Grill comes with a 4-way trivet, allowing the food to be cooked closer or further away from the grill. The touch-safe handle and telescopic runners mean you can safely check on food without the fear of burning your hands.

Rapid Response Falcon cookers have a Rapid Response option that can heat your oven 30% faster, which is great for when you get home late from work and are rushing to get dinner on the table.

Proving Drawer Certain models, like the Professional Deluxe, have a unique bread-proving drawer for all you avid home bread bakers.

Wok Cradle If you go with a dual fuel gas hob, a wok cradle will have you forgetting sub-standard Chinese take-out and creating Asian delights at home instead.

Energy Saving Panel (ESP) The Professional FX 90 models have a very clever feature designed to save you money on your energy bills. If you are cooking for two or want to create a smaller meal, you can install the energy-saving panel (ESP), which divides the oven in half, so you only heat the half you use. You can use the other side to warm plates as you cook. How brilliant is that!

Falcon’s energy saving panel allows you to move from a larger oven cavity to create a smaller more energy efficient space.

If you love Japanese food, these models also come with a Teppanyaki griddle for gas hobs so you can cook meat, fried rice and vegetables just like you would in a restaurant.

Pyrolytic Cleaning Function Hands up, who loves cleaning their oven? We would hazard a guess there are zero hands currently in the air. Cleaning your oven is one of those jobs we usually put off until the mother-in-law is coming to stay, or you have house-minders coming. Imagine if your oven could clean itself. The Falcon’s FXP 90 model come with the pyrolytic cleaning function that can heat up to 450c, turning all the food residue into ash, which can be easily wiped away. No more sore knees, breathing in horrible oven cleaning fumes or having to moisturise battered hands from endless scrubbing. Amazing.

What about steam cooking?

Steam cooking is becoming increasingly popular, especially for the health-conscious, and you aren’t limited to what you can cook. From fish, meat, vegetables, eggs, and even delicious desserts, steam cooking is quicker than cooking on the hob or in a regular oven, and the flavour retained by cooking this way is out of this world. You don’t need fat or oil, and food retains its moisture while reheating dishes in a steam oven can even restore lost moisture – magic.

The Nexus Steam has a dedicated steam cavity, allowing you to really lock those vitamins and nutrients into your cooking.

As well as the steam function and the rapid heat-up that many of the Falcon models have, the Nexus Steam also comes with Duo, Delicate and ECO functions to get the best results every time. Duo allows you to cook pastry without having to blind bake it first – revolutionary. Delicate is perfect for cooking at lower temperatures, so you know your meringues will be on point, and ECO saves energy when your cooking time is 45 minutes or less. Speaking of conservation, the multifunction oven has an automatic door function, activated when someone opens the door, that restricts heat from escaping. The only thing this oven could do better would be prepping and serving the dinner at the table.

An introduction to induction.

With many new builds and renovations opting out of gas, induction hobs are becoming an attractive alternative. It may look like a regular electric oven ceramic top, but underneath is where the magic happens. A copper coil generates electromagnetic energy that creates rapid heat, which cooks food quickly and evenly, and once the pan is removed, the temperature cools automatically.

Induction is a very responsive way of cooking with little or no heat or energy lost between the cooking surface and your food. Our entire Falcon range comes with the option of an induction top. With five different cooking zones of various ratings and power settings, our induction cookers come with a pan detector, a residual heat indicator, automatic heat-up, a child lock, a power boost setting and two low-temperature settings, which are perfect for melting butter or chocolate or for simmering soups, sauces, and stews.

A steak, tomatoes and prawns are cooking in a griddle pan. A wok is cooking some chicken in the middle of the induction oven topo while at the back, two pots are boiling with food in them.
The Falcon Nexus SE has five cooking zones, two of which form a larger bridging zone that can either be operated independently or as one large cooking area for griddles, fish kettles, wider pans or a number of pans together.

Dual fuel, induction or steam, the choice is yours!

Falcon cookers come in an extensive range of styles, sizes, colours, and fuel types to fit your kitchen design aesthetic, the footprint of your kitchen, your lifestyle and what and how you like to cook. Innovation is at the core of Falcon cookers, and they have led the way since the introduction of ‘The Kitchener’, continuing to break the mould when it comes to producing world-leading products.

Our Hastings and Queenstown stores have an extensive range of Falcons, and our expert team can take you through all the options available. You can also Explore the full Falcon Range here.
